On my way home from work everyday, I drive by an old park and many times I stop there for a few minutes to swing Maurice. Today, I stopped and began to investigate some iron signals. Ten minutes into the hunt, I got a deep iron signal that fit my criteria for a dig. I dug a seven inch hole and the pinpointer told me the target was still at the bottom. I took my Lesche to carefully lift more dirt from the bottom and bam! a small dirty silver disk popped out. The coin was close to eight inches deep.
I pulled a dateless Barber dime. It has a New Orleans mint mark so the latest mint date it could be is 1909 but given the wear on it I venture to say it is earlier than that.
This makes today a two silver day. I’ve said I need to find multiple silvers on each hunt to meet my 100 silver quota for the year but I will take a multiple silver day as well.
Wow. Your skills are surely improving with practice and study. You may just make that 100 silver goal.
Thanks Dave! There is also a healthy dose of luck involved. I hope that the silver streak holds up.
